Reconnecting with my dear childhood school friend after nearly half a century felt like stepping right back in time. It was a pure delight to capture her familiar smile which reached her eyes that slightly narrowed with laughter, and the same joyful spirit that has remained completely unchanged over the years.

 Painting the gentle play of light and shadows on her face—bringing expression and glasses to life with such tenderness—was a wonderful challenge. The vibrant red and patterned texture of her attire creates a striking, lively contrast against the soft, luminous green background of this oil portrait on canvas.

 It truly makes you think about fate and how we never really know what life has in store for us. Above all, it was a profoundly rewarding moment to see her expression light up with true joy and delight when she finally saw her own portrait in person for the first time!

Vakrathunda Mahakaya 4 - a Ganesha festival special group art show

 The 4th edition of 'Vakrathunda Mahakaya -4' was held at the Indian Institute of World Culture' Bengaluru from 11th to 14th September 2026.

Sharing some beautiful moments of the show. Very happy to share that this Silver Ganesha adorned with jasmine flowers and rose has found its new home  where he will soon be showering his blessings abundantly.

Puppy dog looks - Pet portrait

She seemed to know she was about to be painted. Her expressive eyes and soulful expression inspired me to create this pet portrait for my dear friend. This Indie breed doggie giving the puppy dog looks- goes by the name Tataghat.

Tataghat is a brown dog wearing a red collar resting on a stone surface giving the 'Puppy dog' looks and creating a serene atmosphere.

Random Expressions - group Art Show at Bengaluru

 'Random Expressions' group art show of 53 artists organized by curator/artist Mrs Shyamala Ramanand at the Indian Institute of World Culture. 

Displaying for the first time four of my treasured paintings from 'The Herd' series, as these were my father's favorite paintings.

Portrait Painting

Life has a beautiful way of surprising us, sprinkling moments of magic when we least expect them. In today’s ever-widening web of connections, it is remarkable how we can reconnect with friends after decades apart.

Meeting a dear friend again—albeit virtually—after nearly half a century was such a joy. The familiar dimple in her cheeks and the unmistakable twinkle in her eyes remained just as I remembered, unchanged in time and spirit, instantly lighting up my heart.   That cherished familiarity inspired me to paint her portrait.

Portrait painting has always brought me deep satisfaction and delight. Capturing the likeness and emotion of a living, multi-dimensional person on a two-dimensional canvas is both a challenge and a thrill—made complete when I see my muse recognize herself in the work.
